About Me
In my time as a Cinema student at San Francisco State University, I was heavily involved in the student filmmaking community. Some of the various positions on films that I worked include Producer, Director of Photography, Screenwriter, Assistant Director, Production Designer, Boom Operator, Production Assistant, Assistant Camera, and even Director. Where I ended up finding my niche, however, was where I was able to incorporate other pieces of my skillset into my work on these films.
Crosses was the Student Thesis Film of Javier Padilla, a good friend of mine in my time at SFSU. In addition to creating the logo above from scratch, I also filled the dual roles of Social Media Coordinator and Behind-the-Scenes Photographer. Funding for student filmmaking is tough, and I took my job of promoting the film's crowdfunding campaign very seriously, everyday posting images detailing the contents of the film as well as stills I captured during production after it had wrapped.
Ouroboros 13 was the student thesis film and longtime passion project of Donnie Sandoval, a fellow SFSU Cinema student. For this project, I acted as a Producer for the first time, with my responsibilities including recruiting crew members, managing elements of production design, maintaining communication between all members of the crew, and whatever other odd-jobs were needed to keep on-set production moving smoothly. In addition, I utilized my skills in graphic design and video editing to create the promotional materials for the film seen here.
